BSA wheel bearings

Hi, wondering if anyone here is familiar with the older B31s? I've just been trying to fit new front wheel bearings and think I made a balls of it. Got them in with a bit of a struggle, the inner sleeve meant I wasn't sure what to fit on to what first. It seemed impossible to fit the second one with...

Re: Sidecar chassis plans

Thanks johnr. I would be very interested, but unless you're in Ireland I don't know how I'd get it from you. The cost of shipping from the UK would soak up too much of my budget. Thanks again.

Re: Oil Additives

I always use "classic" oil, as in oil for older machines. Might not be true, but I was told modern oils have additives that you don't want with an older engine. Anything designed for older engines and regular changes would be my advice.

Re: Sidecar chassis plans

Thanks Hooli, I saw this one, and it is a very good build. Not what I need though. Too unnecessarily complicated and quite BMW specific. Just looking for a basic set up. Flat chassis to bolt a body on to and mounting points for a Brit single. I could maybe adapt his design but I would like to keep i...

Sidecar chassis plans

Hi all. Would anyone have an idea where I could get get my hands on plans for building a sidecar chassis? I can't find the right sidecar here in Ireland and would like to build my own. I'm an experienced welder/fabricator but don't want to have to reinvent the wheel by coming up with my own design a...

Wanted BSA B31 rigid rear end

Hi, if anyone had a B31 rigid rear subframe they don't need I'd be interested in buying it. I have a plunger frame and would prefer to change it to rigid. Thanks.

Re: BSA B31 gearbox

I might have answered this one for myself. I'm beginning to think I have a 1946-1948 B-series gearbox, nearly the same as the M/B but with several different parts. Does anyone know a way to tell for sure? Thanks.

BSA B31 gearbox

Hi all, I've got a question with regard to my gearbox. The bike is a 1950 B31 plunger that has what looks like an M series gearbox. The kickstart spring broke so I ordered what I thought was the right part, a M/B series spring OEM: 66-3058. The spring was way too big, and what came out looked like a...

Re: Honda 250 Nighthawk Ballance Pipe

I'd the same problem with my CD250. I cut it off and welded the holes. Worked fine for me.
