Re: new member, saying sorry!
Some bikes are very fussy about the wattage of the indicator lamps and if a rogue lamp "that fits" but is incorrect, they don't work

Re: how do they measure hands.
If bought mail order you can send them back
Personally I would try them on in a shop as they seem to vary within the size ranges

Re: Triumph 1971 650 conical hub type
Really hard to say The brakes have a bit of a reputation but some say they can be tamed The 71 will be an oil in frame that at first was very high and later bikes were lowered Gearchange will be on the "wrong " side if you are used to modern bikes of jap Condition needs to be good As do your mechani...

Re: Cheap 5ta crank
Yeah,
I know the principle is buyer/seller beware but it just feels a bit stingy
Thought I'd offer him a tenner so he can at least drown his sorrows

Cheap 5ta crank
I won a 5ta crank on eBay last week and am going to collect it
I know the auction could have gone either way but I got it for a bargain price- it needs grinding .
I feel that I should offer the guy a bit more so what's reasonable ?
Cheers

Re: bantam project
To be honest, I'm not up on bantam prices
I have a couple of Cubs and they reach silly money
I can only suggest research on values and resist the urge to buy the first one you see
There must be a bantam forum butsure that others will chime in

Re: bantam project
They generally say that you should buy the best that you can and let some other poor sod pay for the build Buying a bike bit by bit can work out expensive, and thinking that a £500 bike willl just need £250 and be fine is optimistic to say the least. Paint and wheels can cost a lot whatever bike you...
Re: Hi all
Hi They always say to buy the best that you can, not be seduced by the idea of fixing it up- which always costs more than the more complete bike costs Depending on what your ideal bike is, and what extent your "restoration" is, it can get scarily expensive if you try to find a set of triumph bathtub...
