Dished Clutch Intermediate Plates ???

I have a 1930 vintage Rudge, and it has crap clutch plates, and the Rudge club have never got round to getting any more made cos that clutch was only used from '29 - '31. The plates are quite like Royal Enfield plates, but dimensions are too different to adapt some of those. So I wondered what else ...

Re: Rickman Metisse CR - engine mounts ???

http://www.rickman-motorcycles.com/parts-and-prices.php wouldn't Rickman be a better bet? AFAIk "Metisse" only make the frames for the 650 bike stat they import from the USA and the frames for the bloke from the Motorcycle Show that he builds overpriced bobbers with. Hoorah ! A result from the nice...

Re: Does ethanol in petrol make it harder to start bike

Hmm, sounds just like my iron velocette ! 1. The 'tepid' start problem is usually attributed to heat-soak into the carb, causing the fuel to vaporise very differently when the engine isn't really warm but the carb is... and the ethanol will vaporise the fastest ! My 'solution' is to use as little fl...

Re: Rickman Metisse CR - engine mounts ???

Hi Geoff
I sold the 6T some time ago, after offering it up and seeing the huuuuge gap between the swinging arm and the engine sprocket !
The frame is definitely designed for a pre-unit engine, and I really don't want a long chain run.

Rickman Metisse CR - engine mounts ???

Help please ! I've decided its time the 'bargain' rickman frame was sorted out. The project totally stalled when I realised that the 6T unit engine was never meant to fit the frame mounts... and especially not with the dreadfully-tacked-on chrome tube below the original front mounts. Attempts to get...

Re: e 10 fuel

Ethanol in fuel is a problem in several ways: 1) it absorbs water - so badly that distribution of fuel with it in leaves the addition of the ethanol to just before it is transported - even the manufacturers have problems. For punters that means corrosion in fuel tanks. Fact. 2) it is an aggresive so...
