Hmmm, a tricky one. How do the head stock bearings (assume it's separate ball bearing type) fit ? Is there any play/stiffness/notchy-ness when rotating the yolks. If it can all be adjusted as it should you might be OK. Removing the ovalness will probably mean appropriately re-sized head stock bearin...

On the AMAL front I have often heard it said that past 10,000 miles use they are usually well worn out, past the point where new chrome slides etc. will make much differen...
