Enough decent oils out there for classic engines. Just change once a year if you only do a few K. The additive you ask about seems like an updated Slick 50!

The brakes are bloody awful! The OIF handling is good if my A65 is typical. Ride with care and enjoy!

Well I returned to Louth for a few days and dragged the old Lightning out of it's slumbers for the old MOT! 12 bloody miles since last years. The old gal plus the ex Impstan GT250 Suzi really need to head over the Pennines to Lancashire so they can get fettled properly and used. Catch ya soon supersix

My A65L can be a right swine to start hot. I spoke to a guy on a bike run up in the Peak District last year about a nifty little heat deflector/ insulator mod between the barrel and carbs on his A65L and he reckoned it cured the problem. My 72 A65L must be on similar carbs. OK it pinks a bit a times and is a bit lumpy low down, but there is no lack of top end and it still pulls beyond 80. Have you tried a plug chop, or simply jetting it up a bit? Yes today's petrol is crap but I think you have other issues!
