Re: Hot Starting Problem Driving Me Nuts

Out on it last night, round the lanes. First kick starter and goes like a rocket. I used to wonder why they called the Gilera Saturno 'the Italian Gold Star' it was so flat. Now I know

Re: Hot Starting Problem Driving Me Nuts

Eureka!!! With a remagnetised mag and a new condenser, the Gilera Saturno will now warm-start after being left half an hour which it hasnt done since I bought it or had the mag rebuilt. Re: Hot Starting Problem Driving Me Nuts

WELL WELL...another exciting episode. My vintage-bike mechanic mate checked the bike over, said 'its got to be the Magneto' especially, apprently, when he heard who'd "rebuilt" it before. He took it off, has given it to a different mag specialist, who in under a week, not the 2 months it took previo...

Re: Hot Starting Problem Driving Me Nuts

Its a Gilera Saturno.

Ive not really discussed it with him. Another friend/trained classic bike mechanic when told it was rewound by DH Day, started swearing and told me 'that's your problem', so....
