you can also keep an eye on the motor insurance dateabase by googling 'ask mid' this will tell you if the bike is insured even if its not taxed or mot'd, handy if someone has it insured but its not on the road.

has your tank been treated with a tank liner? i wonder if its being eaten away by the ethanol content in modern fuel?

when you say the coil is snug what do you mean? my coil is under the seat. the distributor clips are easy enough to access, you can lift the distributor out and move it round a bit if you cant get at the clips. post pics if you can.

thats very specialist stuff and if he wants to sell id advise him to contact bonhams or one of the big auction houses, the vincent alone sounds like 50k so feck knows what the rest will be worth. auction will attract the big buyers and get him the best price.

are you planning to run it at 12v pos earth? i fitted a reg rec to mine and wired the alternator to suit it, there should be a link to a wiring digram on the c15 budget buid thread in the projects forum on nthis page. did away with the standard energy transfer system that made them so bloody awful t...

i happen to know of a diesel bike for sale at the moment, its been built a few years so has been on the road for a while and runs a ford 1.8 diesel engine. its only about 500 quid which is probably the value of the engine and box alone!

my bmw r100hybrid had reverse cone meggas on it, the mot man described the sound as 'like a spitfire taking off' fab exhausts, though i think the word 'silencer' is a misleading description!
