Forum t-shirts? a fund raising idea

No, not "Greenbat you useless bastard" comments. Instead, any helpful suggestions, bugs, ideas etc. I have very little (i.e, none) experience with forum running, so help is very much appreciated

Forum t-shirts? a fund raising idea

Unread post by triumph5ta » Wed Mar 04, 2009 10:48 pm

A fund raising idea, comments welcome.

Using CafePress.co.uk to set up an online "shop".
T shirts would simply feature your choice of classic bike logo, Triumph, BSA whatever but with http://www.classicbikeforum.co.uk" target="_blank beneath or on the back or whatever.
This involves no outlay and no holding of stock. CafePress.co.uk hold all the t-shirts and print them as required.
Maybe we could make 4 of 5 quid on each one?

I like the idea of T-Shirts, but I'd like to see our own design rather than use a 'stock' image.
I also think we're a bit premature - we'll need more than 125 members before it'll be worthwhile.

It'd be nice to see some of our 'arty' types come up with some designs though.

I like the idea but, only thing with cafepress is that despite having a 'UK Shop' they ship from the USA - another forum I use uses them for stuff and quite a few people have been hit with customs charges plus the post office charge for collecting the charge..! is there a real UK based supplier that does a similar deal?
