Music help...
Im really into bands like aerosmith/the doors. Rock with blues influence.
I want some blues music to listen too but I dont know what music genre I should be looking at under the blues umbrella.
Songs I like include.
Boom boom - John lee hocker
who do you love - George thorogood
rolling an tumbling - Muddy waters
Someone suggested Sea sick Steve?
Any suggestions?

Re: Music help...
Here's a few suggestions:
Eric Clapton
Buddy Guy
BB King
John Mayalls Blues Breakers (w/ Clapton)
Pat Travers
Cream (w/ Eric Clapton)
Lightnin' Hopkins
Canned Heat
The great Robert Johnson
Derek and the Dominoes (Clapton again)
Jeff Beck possibly
ANY of the really OLD Blues artists is worthwhile
If you can get the CDs try House of Blues Vol 1-3 which have cuts by various artists
Give me some time and I'll think of some more

There's all kinds of stuff in the Rock Basement - I'm sure you'll find some inspiration.
In addition to other suggestions I'd like to add Robert Cray.

I never go in there, too many strange people near the scrumpy pump in the corner.Harmonic Generator wrote:I never really noticed the bar before...Hooli wrote:Have a look in the bar, seems to be where this sorta thing gets discussed?

It is kinda tucked away a bit I think to keep the riff-raff such as hairdryer riders out.Harmonic Generator wrote:I never really noticed the bar before...Hooli wrote:Have a look in the bar, seems to be where this sorta thing gets discussed?
Some of the old Stones, prior to that Emotional Rescue nonsense, stuff is good. And even a bit of Hendrix such as Red House.

Of course, if you venture into the Rock Basement, you'll also find reference to those arch exponents of proper R&B - The boys from Canvey Island - Dr Feelgood.
(Rockerators - do you want to merge this thread with the Rock Basement ?)
