Mod band? No, of course not! :-)

Following on from a discussion with a fellow forumite........

Small Faces - Mod band or not?

(I might add some others later. Spencer Davis Group for example, see below)

Anyone else here old enough to remember them?
And their audience at the time?

"All or nothing"

"Itchycoo Park"

"Sha la la la lee"

"Tin Soldier" with P.P Arnold

"Wotcha gonna do about it?" (note Steve Marriott's white shoes, hardly the hallmark of a rocker!)

Also

Spencer Davis Group -
who were a blues band dressed up as mods - what does that make them? :D

"I'm a man" - very blues-y c.1967

"Gimme some loving"

"Keep on running"

Just being old doesn't make it a "Classic."

There's a much better version of All or Nothing than that :

And it's already in the Basement somewhere.

Have another so-called 'Mod' band - with a typically understated performance from Pete Townsend

And yet another 'Mod' band performing the title song to a popular satirical quiz programme - note the opening shout - "Punk Rock - Power"

Maybe Billy Joel got it right back in 1980

Yes mate!
Proper Rock'n'Roll.
Maybe "proper R & B " as well. 8-)

"No particular place to go" and "Johnny B. Goode" are not Rock'nRoll?
I doubt that Chuck Berry would agree!
