Have we tried Hobgoblin? Oh yes! Aelfy on here used to drink loads! Much darker and more flavoursome than Speckled Hen.I enjoy it often. Seems fairly common on the Handpump in the Scunthorpe area which aint to far from you.
If you want a decent bottled beer offer, Morrisons have 3 boxes of Spitfire or Pedigree for £20 at the mo. Both of them are ok.

Whatever happened to Aelfy ?
Hobgoblin is TOP BEER.
As Supersix says, it's a darker and fuller flavoured beer than Old Speckled Hen, but if you enjoy one, then you'll almost certainly enjoy the other.

Yep Hobgoblin does it for me; they have it on draught in the Carlisle at Hastings.....
Also one to look out for (only seen it in bottles) is King Goblin.....6.6%!
