My Bantam does approx 113 miles to the gallon. The fuel tap has a little lever on the side that is supposed to lower a standpipe in the tank to give a "reserve". It is seized solid in the reserve position but I intend to dismantle and free it off during the winter rebuild.

That doesn't sound standard. Someone maybe put a jap tap on? Don't think the brits ever thought about things like that

It is genuine and original. The tap is made by Enots. Seized solid but genuine and original!!

Update - Bantam now back in service. It shouldn't be too long before I run out of fuel and I can show some figures.

Up date update - Sorry about the delay on putting this thread to rest by publishing figures of 'miles travelled' on full tank then 'reserve'. Since my last entry the Bantam has seized 3 times necessitating a new piston each time ! That, plus a separation and house move meant the D14 had to take a back seat over the last 6 months.

She's back on the road and was MOT'd today so perhaps in the near future I might be able to publish my findings.

Sorry to hear it all. If adding an extra fuel tap causes all that trouble I don't think I'll bother!
