Well, with all new stuff it should work !
Start with the easy stuff - are all the connections good and tight, are all your earths clean and tight and is the battery fully charged ?
Then check the spark plug and HT cap
And work back from there.
If you've got a good healthy spark with the plug resting on the head, but the bike still won't fire with the plug screwed in - try some fresh petrol.
I assume that the timing is all spot on.

Sorted, it was a duff spark plug. Just one more question. Should the lights work when the engine is not running

I think not from what I've heard of the original wiring. If I remember right the lights are powered off separate coils in the charging circuit & not connected to the battery.

Thats the early bantams, I'm pretty sure a D10 has lights connected to battery.

On the D10 with a battery fitted the lights should work without the engine running.
