[quote="Hooli"]Update, we palmed out building a chicken to a fool who offered as he's built two smokes for years. We have a current list of faults with the engine that 'you shouldn't need more than a set of bearings in'.

Im sorry you have found that much wrong with it, but the engine was in bits in a box and indeed you picked several bits up and looked at them!! so it wasn't as tho it was hidden in a put together motor was it??

Right, to resurrect this thread, someone remind me where to get parts for a chicken? The list I've got given says

Clutch return spring
Piston & Barrel - but we might do that 185cc conversion if the price is ok
Crank needs rebuilding
Gearbox bearings
Primary drive chain

Any guesses on how much that'll cost?

T&G motorcycles, 01908 579799

I've got prices from a few years ago. Conrod kit and crank rebuild were £135, rebore £30, bearing kit £35.50, seals about a tenner, all plus VAT. Obviously it'll have gone up a bit, he's got the other bits too. Nice bloke who'll answer any questions.
