Hot Starting Problem Driving Me Nuts

Has your Voskhod broke again? Suffering dodgy Italian electrics? Post your tales of woe here. Or ask odd questions about the rear wheel spacer on a Vincent Black Widow, should it take your fancy.

Shit service seems standard from some specialists & lots of tradesmen these days. At least you've finally found the fault though.

Credit where it's due, Pete R did say early on...

Mag's yet to go back on the bike. I live in hope. Also Im going to get the head off to fix a minor oil-leak, spray the barrel and have a look at the valves & guides, but one thing at a time, and check as I go...

Eureka!!! With a remagnetised mag and a new condenser, the Gilera Saturno will now warm-start after being left half an hour which it hasnt done since I bought it or had the mag rebuilt. The bore is like new and valves not leaking any petrol through, So enuff respect to you all for insisting on it being the mag/condenser! Ten years of D.H. Day-mag-rebuild misery solved, it would appear

Great to hear that a fix has been made. It's nice to see a report that's closed out.

Out on it last night, round the lanes. First kick starter and goes like a rocket. I used to wonder why they called the Gilera Saturno 'the Italian Gold Star' it was so flat. Now I know
