Honing when fitting new rings?

When honing use paraffin and slow speed as what you want is a 45 degree crosshatch pattern on the bore, I agree with a pillar drill as it means you keep the hone nice and square to the bore easier just like a sunnen Honing machine but about 20,000 quid cheaper.
