Converting to regulated/rectifier

Has your Voskhod broke again? Suffering dodgy Italian electrics? Post your tales of woe here. Or ask odd questions about the rear wheel spacer on a Vincent Black Widow, should it take your fancy.

Converting to regulated/rectifier

Unread post by hondamad13# » Mon Oct 15, 2018 4:20 pm

Could anyone suggest. which reg/rectifier i should get for my bike. It is a 1973 cb 250 twin and I know the rectifier is US so I want to change the system. There are three wires one white one yellow and one pink out of the alternator. There are a lot of four wire units on the market just to plug in without to much bother. Should I go down that route?

you can buy a cheap 5 wire reg rc from china for about a tenner. you just take the three alternator outputs and connect to the three yellow inputs on the reg rec, then the red wire to the battery live and the black to the battery earth or straight to the frame. and its that simple.
