Greetings all

Unread post by velo-felo » Tue Dec 28, 2010 11:27 pm

well i'm a newbie..actually a returning old duffer back to classic bikes.. my past bikes are 1939 Panther, 1965 Bonneville, 1970 TR6, Mk3 Commando I bought new in 1978, 1960 Venom, then defected to Harley and got totally bored and decided it was time to remember why i got into bikes in the first place and it wasnt about wearing the latest designer harley t shirt and final straw was turning up at the dealer meeting in December to find I was the only one on a bike and the rest came in cars, one old guy even had to ask a salesman to the sidestand down on his bike! enough!

my latest is below.. and i am back and thoroughly enjoying working on it.. almost completed now, since the pics ive also gone back to a monobloc and some ace bars..

Hi, thanks for the welcome! yes i agree..a motorcycle isnt one unless it gets used and mine does. Sure its a lot of work keeping it looking good but you can only experience the great handling of these velos by riding them! Downside is that now a lot of classic bikes are worth a few quid and spares get more difficult to find it makes you a bit paranoid about using them, but then again why have one if all you want to do is look at it?

Hi Steve,

What a great bike for a bit of well muddy green laning :D .

Actually it looks superb, I hope you enjoy riding it every good chance you get.

Thanks chaps, yes it gets used quite a bit. Partly because i'm still sorting stuff out on it but I find laying them up does no good at all. I'm aiming to take it to the IOM Manx GP next August. I could end up doing the top end of it before then though as I reckon its oiling up from either guides or rings, so probably get that done over the winter.
Anyone going to the GP from here?
Steve
