Hi Gus
I have had starter motor problems with my Yamaha SRX250. But with an SR500? A Yamaha SR500 has as much chance to have a starter motor problem as my 1955 Matchless G3LS.

Clearly I'm going quite mad !
I was thinking of the TR1, which was basically two SR500 engines nailed together.
That DID have starter motor troubles.

Hi Harmonic Generator
I have seen two or three ads for SRX250s in the back of Classic Bike. But I have no idea the SRX250 was sold new in England. Does some one here know?
What I was told at the friendly local Yamaha dealer was that Yamaha shipped one SRX250 to each dealer. Then waited for orders to pour in. I guess that they are still waiting. I was told that there were about 2,000 Yamaha dealers in the USA in 1987. But they seem to pop up for sale on a regular basis.
In the USA the SRX600 was a snowmobile. So the bike was called the SRX-6. I do not really want one.

It was also hideous and apparently handled like a barge. I think I mentioned the guy I used to work with who had one from new.
