Garage

Unread post by Harmonic Generator » Thu Sep 30, 2010 4:14 pm

wooo! got my own garage since Sat'day.

Its a tin job with an old kitchen at the back. all wired up and fused.
Being able to do a couple of odd jobs late one evening will be nice. :P

Nothing saps the motivation from you like a dark damp night and a blown mag light.

If anyone comes accross a cheap/2nd hand drill press(?) I think thats what I'll start with.
Ohh and a vice might be good.

And somewhere to hang m'spanner.

You'll also need a kettle.
And a BEER fridge.
Something to sit on and ponder will be useful.

I could find you a spare vice, but you would need to collect it :)

If it's still relatively empty (or not) then I'd suggest a spot of insulation.

It's surprising what some draught blocking and wall insulation can do, if money's tight then some spare carpet on the floor to take the chill off.

I couldn't tell you the measurements atm. Its probably double garage size as its about half as big in both directions as a single garage.

Yeah carpet or some rubber matting might go down well. and a heater - not sure If I want to be insulating it yet - ask me again in Jan, lol.

Thanks for that Dam but doubt I will be in that neck of the woods again for some time.
There is one in my Mums garage but I'll have to see if my dad keeps it for his new one.
It might be the sort of thing that I could pick up at a carboot sale - from one of those people selling old tools etc.
Theres a good one near me on sat - will see what happens.

HG,
If you are in no hurry i may be able to get a vice to Northampton (maybe all the way to you) in six weeks time.
We are going up to Middlesbrough for Admin Phil's graduation ceremony and plan to visit family on the way through.
