Indeed, you can say that except in very rare cases EU rules = breaking something that worked well.

Small update. Lights are up and working off their own 6amp MCB. It's rather bright down there now.
I should get the sockets up later.

Apologies if it's teaching Grandpa to suck eggs, but slosh a bit of white paint down there and if the floor's concrete, use Garage Floor Paint or something to seal the floor. (watered down PVA is ok)

It makes the heck of a difference in a garage, especially if you drop a vital part.

Then watch the walls change from surgically clean to street cred oily hand prints.

All good plans those & already done. Walls & ceilings are white, the floor is sealed & floor painted. Well nearly, the small size of the cellar that'll be the workshop hasn't got the floor painted yet because we had to put everything in there to do the other side & then move it all back. It's due to get painted before the workbench is fitted in, once the filth is swept up again from drilling holes in the walls etc.

All done now :D well nearly, got the 32Amp MCB sat here to swop for the 16amp currently running the sockets. Everything works though so it's all good. I've even moved the original lamps about so they light the stairs & shelves at the top of the stairs much better, they now are controlled by switches at the top & bottom of the stairs too.
