please sign this petition and keep a killer locked up

Taken from a MAG email this morning , this twat should rot in jail forever, anyone that leaves any human in that situation should never be allowed out in public again!

You may have heard about the death of Jade Clark, a 16-year-old who was
killed when she was hit by Brian Hampton, on the A31 while on her moped
travelling to work in February 2013. Banned for drink-driving at the
time, Hampton not only didn’t stop, but he then attempted to cover up
his involvement by having his car repaired and lying to his family. He
was sentenced to six years in prison – two for causing Jade’s death by
careless driving and four years for perverting the course of justice.

He has now decided to appeal his sentence because he thinks it too
severe. MAG thinks he should be locked up and the key thrown away.

This petition was created by Robert Parker when he heard the news. So
far it has just over a thousand signatures which is not enough. It needs
10,000 to get noticed; and 100,000 to get to the point where it can’t be
ignored.

I would like to see it get that 100,000 signatures. Every signature counts.

You’ll find it at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/56314" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for reading.

Signed.
Just being old doesn't make it a "Classic."

Aaaah! Nostalgia is not what it used to be!

Having signed it, I've since read this: http://www.sumpmagazine.com/classicbikenews/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (first article atm). Puts an interesting slant on it.

Yeah, I haven't signed it, not because I don't think the bloke doesn't deserve far worse than he's got but pretty much for the reasons outlined in the article. Without looking the details up, I seem to remember that he got 2 yrs for causing Jade Clark's death and the rest of the sentence for perverting the course of justice.......which the courts have always taken a pretty dim view of.
I suppose the fact that several thousand people have signed the petition shows that those people feel that the sentence handed down was too lenient (which it seems to be) but I can't see how it can or will affect the outcome of an appeal with the legal system we currently have.
Ok, if he gets his sentence increased on appeal perhaps it will be a lesson to him.........but sadly, given his apparent character, I suspect not.

I understand your position and agree with your points in regard to the law however it only takes a moment of any ones time to sign these things I signed in the hope some one in authority may take notice, to register my disgust in way this man has behaved and I hope the lasses family may find some comfort in our support.
