was on the look out

for Suzuki T500 or a GT500 two stroke.
I know I don't post much on here
I went to look at one yesterday and the guy wanted £2300 for it.
the only good thing about it repainted tank etc and recovered seat. looks good in the picture but no way is it worth that.

the trouble is that the silly buggers that are willing to pay to recapture their youth are driving up the prices .
just take a look at these wrecks!!!

and this is the only decent one on here at the moment and that will end up about £1000/£1500

with my current bike er6f(bought new in 09 new model), it doesn't get used much due to the problem that I have..
numb bum syndrome also Coccyx bone gives me trouble from time to time.
I dont want to spend a lot of money on a old bike and find I'm no better.
also the longer I keep my bike the less it'll be worth regardless how many miles that I do. so I'm thinking of selling it and see what comes up next.
there are several nice sport bike for around £1500.
I dont mind that sitting my garage and getting used once in a while.
heres a couple...

I've had one of these several years ago brilliant bike.
you may wonder its a similar bike. mine a sit up type ,so all my weight is on my bottom where as the thundercat my arms etc but I rest on the tank so this takes the weight off my bottom.
as for British bikes I've only ever owned 2 BSA bantam and a Norton domi 88 model.
so I know very little about British bikes.

what was wrong with the one the one you went to see? old bikes are 'worth' what people are prepared to pay for them as they are (rarely) used purely for transport, therefore their (financial) worth cant be compared to a modern bike..

.. your other ebay links dont work by the way.. ;)

they do now

the other one that I went to see wasn't worth £2300 IMHO.
the only good thing about it is the paint work/seat.
why did he just bother doing them is he hiding summat?
the rest of the bike needed money spent on it and not just a little.

as mention having problems with my bum even though some may think I am one ;)

I would prefer the Kawasaki w650 ,they were selling for around £2000 last year but seem to jump up in price since the new one came out.
I'd buy one but I am concerned about is that once the 800 appear on the second hand market the prices will drop dramatically??
I know all prices will drop sooner or later or even go up.
the only bikes that seem to hold the prices well is some classics.
I dont think the 650 will be one of them?
maybe I'm just being a silly old fool? anyway we'll see what happens next.
