What's it worth??

Unread post by Bumble » Thu Jul 03, 2014 9:13 pm

Friend of mine is going through a divorce and would like to know a valuation for the following motorcycles. Does anyone know or know where I could get one from??

P&m kawasaki kz1100 - Peckitt and Mcnabb built 1980

Owo1 Yamaha 1989

Vincent Rapide 1000cc 1949
Parkin frame
Fastest lap for a Vincent Iom GP 1988 plus parts to return to road bike spec.

Any help greatfully received.

thats very specialist stuff and if he wants to sell id advise him to contact bonhams or one of the big auction houses, the vincent alone sounds like 50k so feck knows what the rest will be worth. auction will attract the big buyers and get him the best price.

Yep, what Johnr said. I've seen an OWO1 on sale for about £20,000 I think. An ordinary Vincent V twin will clear £50,000 but that one sounds pretty special so I expect it'll go for quite a bit more. The P&M Kawasaki sounds pretty good, maybe not worth quite as much as the OWO1, but still a nice piece of machinery. Bonhams will shift that lot and if the Vincent has the provenance suggested, it could rack up a pretty high pricetag. The OWO1 could rack up more if it has a good history.

My friends a lady. Her husband has the bikes and in the settlement he has out down the price of the owo1 at £900! I said that was laughable but just wanted a proper valuation!

He's undervalued the OWO1 to maybe 20th of what it'd raise at action. It's best she contacts Bonhams for a proper valuation. he can't argue with that.

Yep, it's possible as Bonhams is good at promoting its auctions and attracting the right buyers. Classic bikes are attracting serious money and probably no more so than a Vincent. The OWO1 and P&M are very desirable classic too. If this is a divorce case, the owner could in theory sell the Vincent so as to keep the OWO1 and P&M, or sell the two to keep the one. I don't have much time for cheats and liars. If this guy is being dishonest, he deserves to be shown up.

we don't know the ins and outs here guys. What happens if the lady has been doing the dirty on the classic bike owner?
