Hello! Old lady (80) seeks reunion with old Dominator (99)

Unread post by indiaoscar » Thu Sep 25, 2014 12:26 am

Please can anyone help me trace my beautiful red Dommie VXA320 from the 1950s. It was sold partly restored on eBay last year and my bucket list includes a longing to see it again before it's too late. I would love to know where it is and what state it is in now. I'd be so grateful for any information.

Hi Mervin
Many thanks for that - maybe it is still being restored or perhaps the buyer has changed the reg.

The seller (DR Classic Motorcycles) did very kindly send me photographs he had taken (including the front number plate) and said he would send my contact details to the buyer but I have not heard from him. Ebay of course does not reveal such information.

How can I check the taxation state? I could keep a lookout for its return if that is possible.

Very many thanks for your help

So Cynthia, you were a biker chick back in the 50's?
I would have loved to have been a teenager back then, but I was not born until 1960, I really hope you can trace your old bike, you can write to the DVLA and request information, but you have to have a good reason to ask as I understand it, and I would say that you have a very good reason to ask, it must be worth a try, nothing to loose really.

Many thanks Mervin and Jem. I will keep watching the DVLA register and write to them if and when VXA320 comes back in. I will also get in touch with Norton Owners Club.
Never been described as a biker chick before :-)) Those were the days!

you can also keep an eye on the motor insurance dateabase by googling 'ask mid' this will tell you if the bike is insured even if its not taxed or mot'd, handy if someone has it insured but its not on the road.

Many thanks - I had no idea one could do that. I will certainly keep an eye on it.
