Nice project bike - how is the braking? A bloke I know had an Interceptor and said that while the bike was as good in many respects as the other better known British parallel twins, its brakes were really poor.

The brakes are "not its strongest point" in other words a bit crap.
Hitchcocks sell uprated brake shoes which help though.
The front brake is double sided, two sls brakes one on each side...

Good work - I remember seeing an RE Interceptor that'd been repowered with a JAP 1000 v twin for sale in CB some years back. It wasn't expensive. It's one of those things that later on, you realise you should have bought. It'd probably be worth more than the guy was asking for the engine alone as long as it ran.

Well Ive only gone and finished it...
Did about 50 miles round trip on Saturday to the Malle Mile event in Orpington, Kent.
The bike went really well, survived being ridden through a torrential downpour on the way back.
