Chroming Service

Unread post by Nostromo » Mon Jun 20, 2016 7:46 pm

Can anyone recommend a good decorative chroming service that:

a) they've actually used sometime this decade and
b) been positively ecstatic about the results?

those that have heard of a bloke who knew a guy whose sister had some chroming done in 1933 needn't respond :D

1. S&T, located in Yate near Bristol.

2. Marque Restore, Nottingham

Hi,

When I restored my T500 Marque Restore did the silencers, Head light "ears", Head light shell, front & rear mudguards, fork lowers handle bar clamps. This was in 2008. They are still in business I believe and they did a good job. See photo (it's not that shiny these days, it's been ridden  )

S&T did the chroming on the restoration of my TS125 and Triumph 500 Speed twin, this was in 2010 and 2012.

Both times the chroming was facilitated by Reality Motorworks in Bristol, but S&T/Marque Restore were the companies used

Chroming these days is not a cheap process, never was I suppose but it has got pretty expensive.

Cheers Geoff

excellent info - thanks.

I've contacted both for a quote on a couple of external fork springs to get an idea.

(I have quotes in from a couple of others)

nice looking bikes!
