It took me ages to index my T140 box, I just didn't "get it" and then it worked.

Take loads of digital photos as you take the inner cover off to help with alignment

Well the problem with the shorting was the dumbass at the other end of the multimeter, but its sorted now and heres a wee video of the bike running.

Tickover quite high and when I try to rev it the bike just cuts out, so a strip down of the carb may be in order. I have ultrasonically cleaned it but just threw it back together so will look at that tomorrow, anyway it runs .....Yipee

Went out today and had a look at the carb. Adjusted all settings back to standard, put it back on the bike and away she went. Next up the clutch. Tis a B40 clutch so I need to find out how many plates should be in there. I think I may have an extra plate in as it is very heavy to use

edit/ 5 plain and 4 friction. Think I may have an extra plate in there.

Hi jimmy,

I had a bit of a time getting my clutch to stop slipping. It is of the earlier 1960 4 spring type and initially I was using 5 friction + 5 plain plates on advice of an "Expert". I went back to what was shown in the parts manual which specified 6 Plain plates and problem was solved. If it works as is, I would go with that.

To save zunspecs' thread getting spoiled by my shit

Unfortunately with my bike being a 59 model there is no place to fit a tacho, I have however seen an electronic tacho on fleabay so I may go down that route.
I'm hoping to run around on it this year and then have a go at cafe'ing it next year (I know it's old hat, but it's a style I like and my bike is not original anyway). All I need is an ally tank, single seat, clip ons and rear sets and away I go.............. :roll: :roll:

I saw your thread on the TOMCC forum, I'll be interested in seeing how you get on with the tacho. For a cafe style a large tach and small speedo would look good!
