AMC-Sunbeam similarities

Unread post by Pete (Sloperman) » Wed Jun 09, 2010 10:33 pm

I've just compared these 2 pictures, one of a late 30s 350 Matchless (AMC) taken at the Wolds Run this year and one of my late 30s Sunbeam (owned by AMC from 1938) 350 Hi Cam. Look how similar they are. They came out of the same Plumstead factory.

I've just mot'd it. Its a 70mph 350 with a hi cam pushrod engine and 4 speed Burman box. Very tall gearing. Will sit at 55-60mph all day and eat for dinner, most 50s and 60s 500's, let alone other 350's.

I've got a Brooklands Can that goes on it for "special occasions"!!!

There's a MC museum in Porthmadog? I had a day to kill there this October (& it was a long slow death)
...waiting to start work at No. 6 Festival...Never knew there was a Museum of Bikes! Shame on North Wales Tourist Board for not erecting a huge roadside sign informing visitors of this.
