Here is Russ Gardner’s Preview for the Castle Combe Grand National this weekend – 21st and 22nd June. Packed solo grids, a National Championship, Classic races and parades topped by VIP visitors on Sunday, all with dry and warm weather forecast, promise an all action weekend to suit every taste. This is the only bike meeting at the popular west country circuit this year, and the programme includes rounds 6 and 7 of the NG Road Racing Club Solo Championships.

*The Phoenix Open and Simon Consulting Powerbikes series.
*Parades of Classic and Specials, with a wide variety of bikes ranging from a 1938 Norton 350cc Model 40 to a 1995 Ducati 916 which was the first 916 race bike to enter the UK.
*On Sunday, a VIP parade will be headed 20-times TT winner "The Morecombe Missle" John McGuinness, who will ride the ex Mike Hailwood 296cc Honda Six. He’ll be joined on track by Steve Parrish on the 500cc Honda Four, as ridden by John McGuinness in the Mike Hailwood tribute alongside Giacomo Agostini as last year’s Classic TT, recreating the classic clash in 1967.
