The Dark Room
sfb voiced a concern that potential forumeers may be put off by some of the subject matter in The Dark Room.I reckon she's right! Is there any way that the area be locked to non-members and an explicit warning re possibly contentious content be added?. The Dark room I hope will stay with us.
Moderators. Shift this thread to where it best suits. I wasn't sure where to place it.

Re: The Dark Room
Probably a good idea.
I dunno how it's done either.
I suspect it's a matter of setting Permissions for the various sections of the forum

That's a good idea supersix.
I should have an answer on how to do this later today, if Hooli doesn't remember how to first.

Re: The Dark Room
I think I've done what was requested.
If you log out, you'll not see The Dark Room.
If you are logged in as a member then it's there.
Twas easy enough, I just removed 'Guests' from the list of folk with permission to view it.

Probably a good idea!
Some of the debates in the Dark room can get a bit heated - for which I accept my share of the responsibility.

Just being old doesn't make it a "Classic."

Re: The Dark Room
Good Idea, lure the unsuspecting punters in with the "oh what a friendly, worldly wise bunch of chaps and chapesses we are" routine and when they join they get to see the real forum
It also saves me having to log in now, that way I get to read the stuff I want without feeling the urge to read the vitriolic, say what you want as long as you agree with us shite thats spouted in there

Re: The Dark Room
Most of us on here 'know' each other and potential new forumeers can peruse the light side before falling into our bad habits!!!. Hopefully not too many subjects in 'The Dark Room' will kick off like the Question Time one though!
Well acted on Rockerators!!!Did it also get a health warning?
